Why is it called "Phony-Art"?

The simple answer is that it is called phony-art because all of the original sculptures were made entirely out of PHONE wire. 

Who creates the pieces on the site?

Everything you see has been created by me.  

Is the same wire used for everything on the site?

No.  Most of the sculptures use phone wire, and the larger ones have a nickle or copper frame for durrability.  The Jewelry uses 26 to 16 gauge gold, silver, gold filled, sterling, or base metal wire as needed.  Some heavier pieces use a nickel base to help maintain the shape.  Changes and custom work can be done upon request.  All Maille pieces can be done in Gold, Sterling, Argentium, Copper, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Nobium or Bright Aluminum.

What wires are used in the chain maille pieces?

Pieces are shown in bright aluminum or stainess steel.  All Maille pieces can be done in Gold, Sterling, Argentium, Copper, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Nobium or Bright Aluminum.  Prices will vary accordingly.

What are the beads made out of?

Most of the beads I use are glass or crystal.  I never use accrylic beads unless explicitly stated.  Crystal comes in two types.  Fire polished, and Swarovski.  Swarovski crystals are the highest level of crystal used in jewelry making.  Silver and gold toned beads can be glass, metal or precious metal as requested/required.
